The McBride Big Country Snowmobile Association and the Yellowhead Ski Club both hosted snowy Family Day events on Sunday Feb 19, 2023. The groomers reported 200 participants at the snowmobile event on Lucille. Avalanche Canada representatives were on hand providing avalanche education and first hand experiences with some of their techniques and equipment.

The ski event brought out a few families who enjoyed amazing ski conditions and some friendly competition. Each club provided attendees with lunch and hot beverages.

Eli and many others took advantage of snowmobile rides up the hill provided by Willy and Darla Undiks allowing them countless rides down the slippery slope. /SUBMITTED
The people on Lucille were not the only creatures being fed during the Family Day event. The persistent whisky jacks took advantage of the food supply as well. Tiana and Cohen sat still trying to hand feed the birds. /SUBMITTED

Ashley Reinhard and her son Corbin participated in the kids snowmobile pencil races inside the cabin. The kids raced the toy snowmobiles across the table by winding string around a rod. /SUBMITTED.
Visitors from Vegerville pulled off a surprise gender reveal while celebrating family day. Justin, Megan and Macie Saskiw made the announcement through a pillar of pink smoke./ SUBMITTED
