Over the first weekend of April, over 100 delegates from snowmobile clubs across the province will descend on Valemount for their annual general meeting and excellence award gala.
The event will be held at the Best Western Plus Valemount Inn and Suites, and hosted by Tourism Valemount.
“This is the second time we have hosted this event,” said Curtis Pawliuk, executive director of Valemount and Area Recreation Development Association. “It is a great way to showcase Valemount to people who do not otherwise travel this way. British Columbia sledders do not usually travel far to ride. We all live in paradise.”
The event will kick off Friday with a meet and greet. Saturday, delegates will attend meetings and presentations throughout the day before the gala in the evening.
Pawliuk said that on Sunday attendees will be invited to visit one of the popular local trails, guided by VARDA representatives and enjoy a BBQ on the mountain. He says that the exact location of this part of the event will be determined closer to the date based on snow conditions.
“Following the event in 2017 we received positive feedback,” said Pawliuk. “We are looking forward to having it again.”
