The Open Gate Garden Society held a successful garden seed giveaway on Friday and Saturday, March 26th and 27th. The event was in lieu of the annual Seedy Saturday event and offered commercial and locally-grown vegetable, flower and herb seeds free of charge. Wise gardeners took advantage of getting seeds locally at a time when many of the seed companies are suffering from shortages. Winners of the door prize draws were Sandy B., Bob T., Rosemary B., and Ken S. Prizes were generously donated by The Farm Store, Robson Valley Home Hardware, Pete Amyoony, Roots ‘n Thyme, and all those persons who contributed to the huge gift basket and to the selection of seeds. Thanks to the McBride and District Library and the McBride Museum for hosting the two-day event and allowing the use of their buildings and equipment. /SUBMITTED
