The Open Gate Garden (OGG) and the McBride library collaborated for a fundraiser this month. One of the organizers Penny Rivard says both groups sought a summer fundraiser one task member remembered a tea party put on when Barb Jackson owned the Beanery. The group decided to hold a tea inside the Open Gate Garden. With donations from the McBride Community Forest and AG foods, and the volunteers, the fundraiser was a success. Volunteers donated everything from eggs, baked goods, cream, sugar; one member offered old tablecloths, teaspoons, cups and saucers. Attendees dressed up and wore fancy hats for the high tea while being serenaded by Dorren Beck on harp.
