Jean Ann Berkenpas grew up riding bikes in Valemount back when Andreas’ Downhill was a prefered route and the bike park was the dream of an adolescent teen”¦ so you know she’s good. She has since competed nationally and internationally, and last Monday local women and girls were pleased to get the chance to learn from a pro.
Jean Ann was sponsored by Liv Vancouver and gave a two hour beginner course.” They learned how to climb, body positioning for uphill and down and had a chance to hang out with somebody cool.
If you are interested in taking a course, both men and women are invited to register for courses for a variety of levels on June 8, 9 and 10th.
