In early October, the McBride RCMP with the assistance of the Valemount RCMP arrested four individuals who were in possession of a stolen truck and licence plate. The unlucky criminals blew a tire and had pulled off of Highway 16 to change the tire when an observent member of the public contacted police to report the known property criminals in possession of the truck which was believed to be stolen.

Two males who are known to police and two females were arrested without incident while they were still trying to change the tire of the truck.

Shawn Rory Finnerty was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle over $5000.00 and possession of stolen property under $5000.00. Finnerty pleaded guilty in court on Friday and received a 14 day jail sentence. Finnerty was also wanted on warrants for possession of stolen property which are still before for courts from the Lower Mainland.

Raymond Francis Thiffault was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle over $5000.00 and possession of stolen property under $5000.00 and breach of conditions of a probation order which he was bound by. Thiffault is currently in custody awaiting trial on the above noted charges which he is alleged to have committed.

The two women who do not have criminal records were released from custody with a future court date and were placed on strict conditions.
