McBride’s first baby of 2023 was born at 9:48pm on Mon Jan 2. Sean and Joy Proktor were thrilled to announce the arrival of their 6lb 8oz, 49.5cm long baby girl, Aurora Grace. Aurora was born in Hinton due to the lack of delivery services in McBride. The couple were in Jasper, planning to make the trip to Hinton for an induction when Joy went into labour. They made it to Hinton in time for a safe delivery. The family returned to McBride only a few days later and were out for a slow family walk by Friday along with Suka, the dog. “It is really exciting for us to bring her home to McBride,” said Sean. “It will be a cherished memory.”
