After months of ongoing investigations, evidence collection, surveillance, and information gathering, Valemount RCMP recieved a search warrant at a house in the 1000-block of 14th Avenue, Valemount. They executed it in the early hours of February 12th.

A local man and two local women were arrested without incident inside the home and are now facing numerous charges including, but not limited to, trafficking in a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Police did a thorough search of the residence and found substantial amounts of what they suspected was methamphetamine, cocaine, “crack” cocaine, and psilocybin (“magic mushrooms”). They also found numerous items associated with dealing drugs including scales, pipes and plastic baggies. RCMP say the drugs are estimated at $25,000 in possible street value. They also found in excess of $2000 in cash believed to be the proceeds of drug sales.

“Drugs are not just in the big cities,” said Constable Robert Riemer. “We as a community can work to restrict drug sales and help prevent the social and family problems that go with it.”

He says he hopes these successes will inspire more people to come forward with information.

“This is only the beginning,” said Reimer. “Police will continue to focus on drug-related movements and sales to help ensure a safe and positive community for all.”
