The McBride and District Hospital Auxiliary held their annual Christmas Raffle of a beautiful Christmas Hamper last week. From left to right: Eleanor Johnson, Pat Elliot, Carol Hammar, Santa (Rick Thompson). The 1st prize winner of a basket with more than $250 worth of groceries (fixings for Christmas dinner, plus snacks, baking ingredients, and more plus a turkey) was Cecile Kraby. She was very excited when she picked up her prize. The 2nd prize of a turkey was won by Kat and Fred Vickery. McKale Guesthouse sponsored the hamper (with a few additional goodies from auxiliary members, and coffee from Jill Philpott), and the turkey from McBride Storage; the second turkey was sponsored by Real Wood Products (Robert Johnson). Ongoing fundraisers include Community Christmas cards, Christmas jam and rice bag heat pads still available at McKale House, and the soup fundraiser available for pickup at McKale House Wed. Dec 8.
