Valemount’s Healthy Communities Committee has purchased eight bike racks with remaining funds from a grant.

Village Councillor Hollie Blanchette, who sits on the committee, said its purpose is to develop initiatives based on locally-identified risk factors.

“The bike racks are our latest investment in our community,” said Blanchette.

The new racks are located at the Library and Museum, Centennial Park, IGA, IDA, the Community Hall, the Sportsplex, the Village Office and the Court House.

The Healthy Communities committee has four members, Keltie Barlow, Robson Valley Health Services Administrator, Hollie Blanchette, Councillor Village of Valemount, Dr. Stefan Du Toit and Kim Nordli, the site manager for the Valemount Health Centre.
