The Rocky Mountain Goat is once again a top-three finalist for general excellence in the BC and Yukon Community Newspaper Association’s Ma Murray awards.

The other finalists for general excellence in the under 1,600 circulation category include the North Thompson Times (Clearwater) and the Haida Gwaii Observer (Queen Charlotte), both of which have won 1st place in the category before.

The Goat was selected among 11 papers who applied in the category among 15 eligible papers.

The award recognizes all-around excellence in editorial content, layout & design, photography, online presence and advertising content & design.

This is the third time the Goat has been nominated for general excellence since it joined the BCYCNA 5.5 years ago. The Goat won first place for general excellence from the BCYCNA in 2015 and 2nd place in 2016.

The winners of this year’s competition will be announced April 28th during the Ma Murray awards gala at the River Rock Casino in Richmond.

Good luck to all the finalists!
