Rosara Buck was one of the presenters at the opening of the seed library at the McBride library. The seed library loans out seeds the way the rest of the library loans media. The return dates are just, of course, a little longer. The seeds come in packets labeled with the name of the plant, the name of the person who donated it, the year it was collected, how long it takes to grow, and how skilled a gardener you need to be to grow it, among other things. The library asks that you bring back the same type of seeds after growing them, but there are no late fines. Some plants are biennial, so you wouldn’t have to bring those seeds back for two years.
