In the belief that children need crafts, books and hand-eye activities (anything other than television and electronic game activities) along with an opportunity to socialize with their peers – our Library put on the Kids Health and Fun Fair on Saturday March 1 at EV Free Church. The activity, which drew 24 parents and 44 children, was a popular activity and featured several guest speakers, presenters and activities covering Yoga Tales, Infant Massage, Healthy Kids Cooking, Kids Massage, ‘Kids have stress too!’, Supporting Child Development through Art, Glow Germs, Kindermusik and Kits Fitness.

The popular event organized by our Library staff was well received by those attending. Funded by a significant grant from Childrens First (a provincially Funded Northern Initiative program designed for ‘Healthy children, happy families and informed communities’) which allowed the organizers to bring in presenters from Prince George, provide food and snacks as well as provide books for all the participants. McBride and Dunster were both well represented amongst those in attendance. Congratulations and thanks are extended to Martina Wall and her co-workers for coming up with the concept and putting this event together.
