Laverne “Vern” Boettger, 78, is known to explore remote roads in the Clearwater and Vavenby areas, and was last seen Sunday afternoon in his pickup truck, driving north out of Vavenby on Highway 5.
On October 11th, Valemount and McBride RCMP were called to a possible sighting, and Robson Valley Search and Rescue conducted searches of all the roads north of Blue River. Sergeant Darren Woroshelo says that all roads and forest service roads in our area have been checked, on the ground and with a fixed wing aircraft and the RCMP helicopter, and have found no signs of the vehicle. Local Search and Rescue has stood down.
Boettger is believed to be driving a black 1997 Ford Ranger with a purple and blue pin stripe. If anyone has any information please contact your nearest RCMP detachment.
