The McBride Elks & Royal Purple, Mountainview Boutique and Welcome Home hosted an Easter event for kids up to the age of 12 on Saturday morning. In spite of the snow, approximately 30 kids attended and received gift bags full of treats and swag. There was an egg decorating station and colouring pages available as well. The Easter bunny made a rare early appearance to hand out treats and pose for photos with the kids. There was even a modified (no hitting needed) pinata that spilled more treat filled plastic eggs out onto the ground for the kids to collect.

Jack was the first child to approach the Easter Bunny. He needed a little encouragement from his grandma initally, until he realized there were treats to be had. /ANDREA ARNOLD
