River crossings for most wildlife are taken in stride. Recently on a salmon spawning river I witnessed, for the first time, a chipmunk swimming. The river had a fairly fast current at this particular section, however the little swimmer never had a problem crossing over. This magnificent bull elk is on a mission to locate receptive cows and rivers don’t even slow it down. /LEON LORENZ
