The family of Daniel Ritchie is asking for volunteers to help in their search for the Valemount-based pipeline worker who went missing in East Blackpool earlier this month.

Ritchie’s pick-up rental truck was found abandoned 14 km up the 1130 Forest Service Road, off Dunn Lake Road. RCMP say he was last heard from Oct. 13th. Daniel’s regular vehicle was at a repair shop in Kamloops and his rental truck was supposed to be returned the weekend of Oct. 9th, and he was expected back at work Oct. 18th.

A search last weekend failed to turn up any leads. His family doesn’t believe he was hiking.

An event has been posted on Facebook seeking volunteers. The search group will meet at the Tim Hortons in Clearwater at 9 a.m. Sat. Oct. 30th. The search area is tough forested terrain, and the search will be conducted in small groups with 4×4 vehicles.

Those who would like to join in the search can reach out to Daniel’s sister Kara Ritchie through Facebook messenger or text at (250) 571-8682.

Ritchie is described as a caucasian male, 35-years-old, 178 cm tall, 80kg with brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Daniel Ritchie is urged to contact their local police, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
