The Village of Valemount is upgrading the lights at the airport. According to staff only one quote for the job was received but it fit the budget. Sidney BC’s Signal Electric Ltd submitted a bid for $200,909.26.

The company has 40 years experience in the construction of airport lighting and navigational aid systems.

The BC Air Access Program will cover 70% of rehabilitation costs and and Council budgeted a maximum of $40,000 from the village’s general surplus account.

Council authorized village staff to enter into a contract with Signal Electric Ltd on Tuesday.
