As past residents of McBride we recently visited the quaint little town that once was our home town and were appalled at the state Horseshoe Lake is now in – full of weeds and undergrowth, a far cry from earlier years. The first question that comes to mind is where are all the dollars that are raised at annual auctions, collected to rejuvenate this once lovely lake? Funds that are raised locally should be used locally for improvements badly needed to restore this historic wildlife area and park that many people enjoyed over the years.
