The Ministry of Transportation and Transit plans to place asphalt surfacing along Highway 5 from Cedarside to Tete Jaune, as well as on 3.2 kilometres of Whiskey Fill Road from Highway 5 to Cedarside Road this spring.

The work on Highway 5 is part of the ministry’s regularly-scheduled pavement rehabilitation, according to a statement the ministry sent to The Goat via email. The paving on Whiskey Fill Road will replace the current seal coating on the road, the ministry added.

The work is expected to be completed by this fall. The ministry said a more specific timeline will be determined closer to when work begins.

During construction, the roads will switch to single-lane alternating traffic. Delays will last no longer than 15 minutes, according to the ministry.
