An excavator sank over a section of Trans Mountain pipeline in a swampy area just west of Jasper. A witness said they believed the workers had finished with a dig to inspect the old pipe and were removing the rig mats when one of the rig mats gave way. A trans Mountain spokesperson said they were conducting routine work in the region during spring with shifting ground conditions. There was no damage to the pipe or damage to equipment. The photographer said the company called in more equipment and rig mats on Monday to move the machine. The photo was taken on Hwy 16 just west of Jasper. /SUBMITTEDRelated Posts:Trans Mountain to inspect pipeline near Blue RiverPipeline digs to test integrityNorth Thompson pipeline construction 1.3 % doneTMX to add night shift over the coming weeksPipeline workers still strong in the regionPost navigationSwift slide active againBC Gov commits to more funding for vet school
