Valemount Secondary alumnus Jason Van der Wilk received the Governor General’s Bronze Medal for having the highest grades in Gr. 11 and Gr. 12. He received the medal at the school last week. Van der Wilk is currently studying molecular biology and biochemistry at UNBC. He plans to pursue medicine where he hopes to become a pediatrician. Despite his schooling being online, he’s living in Prince George where he says the Internet is more reliable and he is managing to meet new friends, despite the COVID regulations. /LAURA KEILRelated Posts:McBride student earns Governor General's medalMcBride's Governor General's Award recipientAcademic RecognitionHigh honours for studentAcademic excellencePost navigationAvalanche Canada issues special avalanche warning for two B.C. regionsBC Liberals launch leadership race
