The Anglican United Church in McBride hosted their annual Mother’s Day Tea and Fashion Show May 10th. Local models of all ages showcased 40 combinations found in the church’s thrift store, before a tea style luncheon. This July will mark the 20-year anniversary for the store. The church began the service to the community in 1999, when Fran Long, Eileen Lawrence and Rose Elliott opened its doors in the basement of the Anglican United Church Hall. The thrift store, now housed in the upstairs portion of the hall, is still run by volunteers and is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 1:00-3:00pm.
