Over a foot (18 centimetres) of snow fell on Friday in the Valemount and Blue River areas. Highway 16 is closed to traffic between McBride and Prince George due to a vehicle incident. No one is reported injured there, but a fatal collision occurred in the Lucerne Lake stretch of Hwy 16 near Mt. Robson, involving three vehicles. There is limited visibility with blowing snow from Crescent Spur to the junction with Hwy 5 in Tete Jaune Cache (110.5 km). A travel advisory is in effect for that stretch as well as Hwy 5 in both directions 62 km north of Blue River to Tete-Jaune Cache. Please use extreme caution when travelling.
