MLA for Prince George-Valemount Shirley Bond joined the Valemount Legion on Saturday evening to honour and give thanks to local first responders. The Legion hosted a free, family-friendly dinner and dance featuring the music of local musicians the Drunken Midnight Howlers. Minister Bond presented certificates in recognition of service to our country and community to Bela Janum, Unit Chief for BC Ambulance (above left), Corporal Kent Kryzanowski for the Robson Valley RCMP (above right), and Fire Chief Rick Lalonde for the Valemount Volunteer Fire Dept.

In her presentation, Minister Bond noted the Legion was the appropriate place to honour the work and sacrifice of those who run towards danger, and the importance of the Legion as a place for families to share, children to learn, and the community to honour our older vets as well as the new younger generation of veterans who are still sacrificing for their country and community.
