Jos Hoetjes, a chemical engineer at BC Biocarbon’s plant on Mountainview Road, holds a piece of carbon, a byproduct that has many characteristics of graphene. Hoetjes says the Mountainview plant can create many of the substances derived from oil and coal, the difference being, they are from a renewable source. “If we wanted to be carbon neutral tomorrow, we could do it.
