The recent wildfire smoke which fortunately didn’t hang around too long did however make for comfortable viewing of the sun, especially at sunrise and sunset. The smoke causes the shorter wavelengths in the visible light spectrum which are the colours green, blue, indigo, and violet to be blocked out and the longer wavelengths which are the colours red, orange and yellow is what is left for the majority of what you’re seeing with the sun. /Leon Lorenz
