A motor vehicle collision on the night of April 30th has left one person dead and another with non-life-threatening injuries, the RCMP say. Valemount RCMP officers responded to the incident shortly after 5:00 p.m. between the Camp Creek Rest Area and the Canoe River Bridge, about six to nine kilometres south of Valemount.
Media Relations Officer, Corporal Madonna Saunderson, told The Goat the driver of a Jeep crossed the centre line of the road and collided head-on with a Ford F550 truck. The Jeep caught fire and the driver was found dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and more details may be released at a later time, Saunderson added.
