Valemount RCMP Report: March 2025
Submitted by Cpl. Nicholas Theoret, Valemount RCMP
On the 15th of March, 2025, The Valemount RCMP was advised of an avalanche near the Clemina Creek Snowmobiling area. There were conflicting reports regarding the number of people injured in the avalanche.
With the assistance of Robson Valley Search and Rescue, Yellowhead Helicopters, and CMH Heli-Skiing it was confirmed that there was only one injured snowmobiler who was transported to Yellow Head Helicopters where he was then transferred into the care of BC Ambulance.
On the 25th of March, 2025, The Valemount RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle fire at the Jackman Flats Provincial Park. On arrival officers located the vehicle which was fully engulfed with no one in the area.
After the fire was extinguished investigators were able to determine that the vehicle was a 2021 Kia Forte, which had been reported as stolen out of Edmonton Alberta. If anyone has any information regarding this vehicle or the subsequent fire please contact the Valemount RCMP at 250-566-4466.
As we are moving into Spring with warmer weather the Valemount RCMP will be on the lookout for youths who take bicycle and scooter safety seriously.
Officers will be handing out coupons for a free small Slushie, generously supplied by The Valemount Petro-Canada, to youths who are seen riding wearing their helmets. The Valemount RCMP would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Valemount Petro-Canada for their participation and their generous donation to this program.
