On June 22, 2015 McBride RCMP stopped a vehicle after it was observed travelling at 154 km/h on Hwy 16 near Tete Jaune Cache. The driver, a 30 year old Edmonton male, was issued a violation ticket for Excessive Speed and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

On June 23, 2015 McBride RCMP received a report that on June 18 a local resident found a male sleeping on his lawn. The male had been flying from Kamloops to Yellowknife when he ran low on fuel and make an emergency landing on the property. Transport Canada has been notified for further follow-up with the pilot.

On June 23, 2015 McBride RCMP observed a local male poaching bull trout on the Holmes River. The fish were seized and BC Conservation Service is conducting a follow up investigation and charges are pending.

On June 23, 2015 Valemount RCMP received a report of sandbags that had been left on the hood of a vehicle. The vehicles suffered minor scratches.

On June 24, 2015 McBride RCMP attended a Break and Enter in Slim Creek. Tools were stolen and the doors to the building were damaged. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

On June 24, 2015 McBride RCMP attended a complaint of an unwanted guest on private property. The male left voluntarily without incident.

On June 25, 2015 McBride RCMP stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver, a 23 year old
Edmonton female, was prohibited from driving and was issued an Appearance Notice for Court in September along with several violation tickets. Her vehicle was also impounded for 7 days.

On June 25, 2015 Valemount RCMP attended a single vehicle collision near Moose Lake. The driver was suffering from fatigue and was issued a violation ticket for Drive without Consideration and his vehicle was towed into town so he could sleep.

On June 25, 2015 Valemount RCMP stopped a vehicle after it was observed travelling at 152 km/h on Hwy 16 east of Mount Robson. The driver, a 25 year old Valemount resident, was issued a violation ticket for Excessive Speed and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

On June 25, 2015 Valemount RCMP stopped a vehicle after it was observed travelling 155 km/h on Hwy 5 north of Valemount. The driver, a 24 year old Edmonton male, was issued a violation ticket for Excessive Speed and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

On June 26, 2015 McBride RCMP received a report of an aggressive dog. McBride Bylaw enforcement is dealing with the complaint.

On June 26, 2015 Valemount RCMP attended a domestic disturbance. It was determined that no physical assault had occurred, but there was verbal arguing occurring between the two intoxicated subjects. Both were separated for the evening.

On June 26, 2015 Valemount RCMP received a noise complaint on 6th Ave. Police attended and the music was turned down.

On June 26, 2015 Valemount RCMP attended single vehicle collision near Moose Lake on Hwy 16. The driver, a 28 year old Vancouver male, and the passenger, a 29 year old Surrey female, were deceased at the scene. Hwy 16 was closed for approximately 7 ½ hours for a North District Analyst to attend and survey the scene. Preliminary information suggests that speed was a contributing factor.

On June 26, 2015 Valemount RCMP received a report of a Dine and Dash at a local restaurant. After a card was declined the male left to get cash from his friend, but the two never returned and left on motorcycles. There was a delay in calling police and police were unable to intercept the males and no licence plates were obtained.

On June 27, 2015 McBride RCMP stopped a vehicle after it was observed travelling at 172 km/h on Hwy 16. The driver, a 42 year old Dunster male, was issued a violation ticket for Excessive Speed and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

On June 27, 2015 Valemount RCMP were called to Mt Robson to deal with a camper who had refused to pay for his campsite. The male had left prior to police attendance, but his name and vehicle information were recorded. The matter is still under investigation and police are considering charges.

On June 27, 2015 Valemount RCMP located an iPhone. The owner was located and the phone was returned to him.

On June 28, 2015 Valemount RCMP responded to a domestic disturbance at a local gas station. An exchange of a child was occurring between separated parents. The female was assaulting a male and left south on Hwy 16 prior to police being called and attending. Video and witnesses confirmed the assault and a Warrant will be issued for the Merritt female.

On June 29, 2015 Valemount RCMP received a report of an erratic driver on Hwy 16 who possibly impaired. The vehicle was intercepted on Hwy 5 and police determined the driver was sober. The driver, a 67 Alberta male, was issued a violation ticket for speed.

The Valemount and McBride RCMP have their bike safety campaign on for July and August. Youth that are seen wearing helmets and following the rules of the road may be rewarded.
