At their regular meeting on May 19th, the Valemount Legion presented an award to first place winner Daniel Woroshelo in the BC Yukon Legion Remembrance Day contest. Poppy Chairman Eugene Jamin presented Woroshelo the $200 prize for the win. Jamin said there were over 6000 entries in BC-Yukon. The Valemount branch submitted 11 entries to the zone level last October, and seven came back winners; three in first place and four in second. Woroshelo’s entry also goes on to the national level, so good luck again Daniel!

Branch 266 Valemount says they sincerely thank both Valemount Elementary and Valemount Secondary for all their assistance and guidance in encouraging the students and helping towards the Legion’s goal of promoting Remembrance. Every year they receive an outstanding selection of entries for the Poster and Essay contest which are judged locally. As well they are very proud to have Daniel Woroshelo’s entry receive First Place at the Provincial level and move on to be judged at the National level. Congratulations and Thanks to all of our entrants who participated this year.
