The evacuation order for four homes in Valemount has been rescinded effective 4:00 pm July 10, 2012. Emergency work on reinforcing the potential break-though areas of the bank has again reduced the immediate risk to those residents, although sustained hot weather continues to heighten snow melt in the mountains, keeping creek water levels high.

Work will continue throughout this week on armouring creek banks to protect against the high stream flow, and to repair erosion caused by the high water levels.

Residents are advised to stay away from the creek banks as areas of the bank are still unstable and undercut.

To ease the inconvenience of not being able to cool off near the creek, Council has approved a sprinkler in Centennial Park from 12:00 pm to 2:45 pm during the hot weather for children to run through.
