Power has been restored to all customers
9:30am UPDATE
Power has been restored to roughly 500 customers in Valemount.
8am UPDATE
A power outage has affected roughly 1000 customers in the Valemount area since 6:45am. BC Hydro says the outage is under investigation and crews will be on site around 8:30am to diagnose the problem.
The Valemount Activity Society daycare posted that they are closed during the power outage and will remain closed for the day if the outage continues past 10a.m.
The Valemount Elementary School and Valemount Secondary School remain open for classes and busses are still running.
