Despite foreboding weather, the only local participant in this year’s Valemount High School Rodeo, Daniela Rauter, ran clean runs of both the polls and barrels both days, much improved over her times from last year.

Gracie Brook (above) wanted to run the poles like her big sister, but she’s only four. No matter, she ran her stick horse through the pole bending course in her personal best time, to great cheering from the crowd on Saturday.

The Canoe Mountain Rodeo Grounds welcomed well over 200 high school students and their families from all over northern and southern BC as well as Alberta for two days of rodeo events on May 28-29th.
