The BC Coronor’s office has confirmed the identity of the victim of a quadding accident on the south side of Kinbasket Reservoir last week: he was Christopher Nicholas Humphries, aged 21, of Westlock, Alberta, a small community about 85 km north of Edmonton.

Barb McLintock, spokesperson for the Coronor’s office says the man was on a camping and quad riding trip to BC with several friends. She says at about 4pm on July 12, he and several friends were riding on the cliffs above Kinbasket Lake when he lost control of his ATV and it went down the 125-metre cliff towards the lake.

McLintock says others in the party witnessed the accident, and local sources say they had to leave the scene to get help, but it was clear the victim had not survived the fall. Local Search and Rescue teams were called in to do the recovery by boat.
