At around three in the morning on June 1st, an earthmover was taken from BKB Cedar’s lot on Museum Road, driven into town, and used it to try to steal a roll of wire worth $35,000 from CN’s yard, according to Corporal Jay Grierson with the local RCMP.

The roll of wire was discovered several hours later in a ditch near BKB Cedar’s lot—Grierson said the thieves likely lost the booty just as they drove away with it, driving too fast. The earthmover was found back in BKB’s lot, undamaged. There was another roll of wire, mangled by the earthmover, still in CN’s lot.

Police have yet to arrest anyone. Grierson asked that people with information about the crime contact the RCMP.
