Thirty-two people turned up for the McBride and District Chamber of Commerce’s AGM on Jan. 28th at the E-Free Church in McBride, with more members paid up but not in attendance.

It really is amazing how much the Chamber does for the community. They are quiet and unspoken about their contributions. They encourage new members or those that wish to see what they do to please come out and take in a meeting.

The Shop Local Draw For Chamber Bucks was done by Taylor Traquair. A prize of $200 in Chamber Bucks was won by Kathy Molendyk, and $150 each went to Julie Holland and Scott Glines. These Chamber Bucks are to be spent in the local stores that participated in the Chamber Bucks program. Congratulations!

Two-year terms were acclaimed for Sheila Anderson, Clara Appleby, Sheilagh Foster, Linda Fry, Joseph Rich, Drenda Ruddick, plus Danielle Alan, past president. One-year terms were acclaimed for Raj Basran, Don Smith and Debbie Traquair. Bill Arnold, Alan Frederick and Lyn Smith all have one year left of their two-year terms.

The membership agreed to defer election of executive positions until the next meeting of directors, on February 18th. Fellowship followed the elections with refreshments, delicious cakes, and crackers.
