With a cast of nine and several actors playing multiple roles, the Wishbone Theatre team put on another wonderful production in celebration of the McBride Heritage Festival. Running this past weekend in McBride, the audience was treated to a musical and comedic production celebrating the old west, all the while poking substantial jabs at our eastern neighbouring province. With several new thespians in the cast, Sharon Stearns who is the writer and director as well as one of the actors, pulled together a clever and funny script. The nearly two-hour production included nine songs, many of which had rewritten lyrics, a number of dance routines and a countless number of double entendres to amuse the audience. Suffice it to say that the show received a well earned standing ovation at the conclusion.

The cast included Ellise Bressette, Sarah Bressette, Shara Gustafson, Andrew Hryhirchuk, Tom Korver, Sharon Stearns, Bob Thompson, Carla Trask, and Monica Zieper. Of these, Sarah and Ellise Bressette provided the live musical accompaniment for the show. The spectacular set was built by Monica Zieper, with backdrops painted by Catherine Hahn and Sheilagh Foster. Many others participated in the provision of props, food and other necessary equipment.

Playing to a packed standing room-only house on Saturday night, the show was expected to sell out once again on Sunday evening, before moving on to Valemount next Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4th and 5th at 7:30 at the Valemount Legion.
