Wishbone Theatre has created a brand new show for McBride’s Heritage Festival this year – VERA’S SALOON AND THE OIL TYCOONS – a Slick Western Cabaret. Featuring the fine talents of local actors and musicians – Ellise and Sarah Bressette, Shara Gustafson, Andrew Hryhirchuk, Tom Korver, Sharon Stearns, Bob Thompson, Carla Trask and Monica Zieper. The Robson Valley Arts And Culture Council has once again supplied support for this annual festival event
In the dusty old town of MindYer Business, an oil tycoon offers folks a wealthy future when he discovers black gold bubbling under their land. Is he the answer to their dreams or just another snake-oil salesman? Come on down to Vera’s Saloon and find out! Meet a medley of western characters too– dance hall girls, desperados, soiled doves, love struck cowboys and more. A lively variety of western cabaret music threads throughout. Wear your favourite, fancy western duds and you could win a prize for best costume. The show will run September 27 & 28th at 521 Main St. in McBride, and will come to the Valemount Legion October 4 & 5th. Show time is 7:30 and licensed food and drink is offered. Tickets are $15 and are available at Home Hardware Housewares in McBride, Infinity Office and Health in Valemount and at the door.
