Legion contest winners students contestants remebrance day

Pete Pearson, president of the Legion Branch 266 was at the Valemount Elementary School on April 14 to present awards at the Zones level for the Remembrance Day Poster and Essay contest. Valemount students received 10 awards in 14 categories, with three winning entries continuing on to Provincial level: Raquel Medina won first place for Intermediate Essay and Intermediate Black and White Poster, and Eiden Jeong won first place for Intermediate Color Poster.

Also receiving awards were: Alexis Gunderson for Primary Black and White Poster; Michelle McNee for Primary Color; Danelle Du Tuot for Junior Black and White; Ben Dempsey for Junior Color; Makayla Kunka for Junior Poem; and Wyatt Wikstrom for Intermediate Poem. Cara Beth Courtoreille of Valemount Secondary School also won for Senior colour.
