Telus customers in Valemount should notice faster internet speeds soon, as the company upgrades its local internet system. It plans to roll out the upgrade to McBride later this year.

Liz Sauvé, spokesperson for Telus, says they’ve recently invested about $100,000 to upgrade the local internet system in Valemount to newer technology, recognizing the growing demand for service. She says customers are being migrated to the new system automatically, which should be complete within the week, and they will notice faster internet speeds for downloading and uploading.

Sauvé says Telus has invested $1 billion over the last year in new infrastructure and facilities in BC, and is committed to providing the best possible service. She says they’ve recently brought this upgrade to Mackenzie, and will continue to upgrade more communities in the area throughout the year.
