Raj and Sheila Basran recently made it official – they are closing their Stedmans Store on Main Street before Christmas.

Stock reduction is already underway and many items are available at a 20 per cent discount (only the Loto and Video items remain their normal price). Sheila indicated in an interview Oct. 25 that they have enjoyed their four years on Main Street, but other ventures are keeping them busy, and their two children busier still. They anticipate a gradual reduction in their inventory over the next few weeks, but caution that once an item is gone it will not be replaced. The Lotto business will continue to operate as normal throughout the sale period.

To facilitate stock reconfiguration and preparation, the store will be open to the public for sale purposes from 10-3 pm each week Tuesday through Saturday.

The new owners of the storefront have not yet made an announcement as to their intentions for the building. Stay tuned for updates later this fall or perhaps early in the new year on what to expect near the corner of 4th Avenue and Main Street.
